On March 27, 2006, Ball Corporation acquired U.S. Can Corporation (U.S. Can). U.S. Can manufactures and sells aerosol cans, paint cans, plastic containers and custom and specialty containers in 10 plants in the United States. In addition, the company manufactures and sells aerosol cans in two plants in Argentina. The company was founded in 1880 and is headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado. Ball Corporation employs approximately 15,000 people.

Ball Corporation (NYSE: BLL) today reported third quarter earnings of $60.9 million, or 59 cents per diluted share, on sales of $1.91 billion, compared to $107.1 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, on sales of $1.82 billion in the third quarter of 2006. For the first nine months of 2007, Ball's results were earnings of $248 million, or $2.40 per diluted share, on sales of $5.63 billion, compared to $281.3 million, or $2.68 per diluted share, on sales of $5.03 billion in the same period in 2006.
